Pregnancy massage

Pregnancy is a beautiful and special time, filled with many changes.

Not only does your body go through a transformation, but your thoughts, feelings, and emotions can also shift significantly during this period. These mental and emotional changes directly affect the health of your unborn baby. When the mother is relaxed, this calmness is passed on to the baby. That’s why a massage during pregnancy can be incredibly beneficial for both mother and child.

Why Choose a Pregnancy Massage?

A prenatal massage can help relieve physical discomforts, as well as reduce mental and emotional stress. You may be experiencing uncertainty, tension, or fear about the upcoming birth, or perhaps you’re simply not feeling at your best. All of this is completely normal and okay — but how nice would it be to ease or even eliminate these discomforts so that you can fully enjoy your pregnancy?

Massage helps relax and soften the muscles, deepens your breathing, and gives your often busy mind a moment of rest. Your body is given space to recover. This kind of relaxation allows you to experience your pregnancy more consciously and intensely.

Scientific studies show that pregnancy massage can have a positive effect on sleep quality, reduce back pain and stress hormones, and even decrease complications during childbirth. It’s also been linked to a lower risk of premature birth. Massage improves blood circulation, which enhances the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to both mother and baby.

How Is the Massage Performed?

As your belly grows, it becomes more difficult to lie on your stomach. Thanks to a special pregnancy massage table with a belly cutout, it’s possible to lie face-down comfortably until about the sixth month of pregnancy (depending on your body and what feels right for you). If lying on your stomach becomes uncomfortable, a side-lying position is a great alternative. Your body will be supported with a special pregnancy cushion for maximum comfort.

Areas that can be massaged include:

  • Back, legs, feet, arms, hands
  • Belly (optional), neck, face, head, and décolleté

Shorter, focused massages are also possible — for example, only the back.

We use 100% natural massage oils, optionally blended with a few drops of pure essential oils that are safe to use during pregnancy.
